Single Partner Deviate Sex and Contracting AIDS

Single Partner Deviate Sex and Contracting AIDS

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

QUESTION:   Starting with two consenting adults, who are absolutely free of
any disease.  If these two decide to start practising all forms of deviant
sex, and never have any other partners, is it possible for one, or both to
contract AIDS?  The reason for stressing some of the words above is to give a
clinical and controlled aspect to the question.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ANSWER:  Good try!  Providing that all the specifications of your question
are, and remain absolutely true, and within the restrictions of the present
knowledge available about AIDS, there is absolutely no chance of either of
these partners to contract AIDS.  Caution:  they can not be I.V. drug abusers
who exchange needles with infected individuals, and we are assuming they will
not be exposed to the virus through blood transfusions of contaminated blood.
There are few absolutes in medicine, but one of the principles that is quite
certain is that you can't catch an infectious disease if you don't come into
contact with the infecting germ or virus.
