What are the types of Decision Support Systems?

What are the types of Decision Support Systems?

There are a number of Decision Support Systems. These can be categorized into five types:
  1. Communication-driven DSS
  2. Data-driven DSS
  3. Document-driven DSS
  4. Knowledge-driven DSS
  5. Model-driven DSS

Different between expert system and decision support system?

Answer . •DSS aid in problem solving by allowing for manipulation of data & models whereas ES allow experts to 'teach' computers about their field so that the system may support more of the decision making process for less expert decision makers.. • . DSS most often contain equations that the system uses to solve problems or update reports immediately, and the users makes the final decisions on the basis of the information whereas an expert system works from a much larger set of modeling rules, uses concepts from AI to process and store the knowledge base & scans base to suggest a final decision decision through inference.. •DSS only supports the decision making process & a human user is required to weigh all the factors in making a decision whereas ES must acquire knowledge from an expert and apply a large but standard set of probability based rules to make a decision in a specific problem setting..

What is decision support system?

A Decision Support System is a computer-based information systemthat assists business or organizational decision-making activities.DSSs serve the management, operations, and planning levels of anorganization and help to make decisions, which may be rapidlychanging and not easily specified in advance.

In decision support system why are the applications not included?

Decision Support System (DSS) gathers information from several resources, and an application is only one resource. Refer to the related link below for more information . This is because you are not making decisions you are supporting them
