Quadopod Corporation
A brand-new way of transportation which will revolutionize
the whole transportation industry.
Recently in the consumer electronics show in Las Vegas that
was displayed a quad-copter which can autonomously transport one single person
at the speed of 60 mph for short distances at the low altitude.
(Ehang, a
Chinese drone company, announced a new product at CES it's calling the Ehang184, an all electric quadcopter scaled up from a drone so that it's large
enough to carry a passenger. Ehang calls it an autonomous aerial vehicle, I
prefer personal pilotless helicopter, but if you need to explain what it is to
anyone, just say it's a driverless car for the sky. )After reading this and also
reading about all the new concept cars using electricity as power I was
thinking about this when I went to sleep yesterday night.
And I had this early-morning dream about the Quadopod
Corporation
Imagine
the following scenario
Niklas Zennström ,the inventor of Skype and Garrett Camp,
the founder of StumbleUpon, and Travis Kalanick the brains
behind Uber get-together at San Jose California for the weekend.
Although all these people can afford to fly by executive
jets or helicopters they actually decide to travel by car and get stuck in the
traffic. So while stuck in the traffic they start discussing scenarios where
such traffic jams do not exist.
And after a long discussion they decided to pool their
resources together to form the Quadopod Corporation.
They decide that the transportation industry needs a
paradigm change and a disruptive technology like Uber when combined with ehang
corporation’s quad copter technology and Tesla corporation’s extra long-lasting
and mass-produced batteries and powerful electric motors when combined with
Google maps Google’s speech recognition technology combined with Google
translate and Microsoft technologies Skype with its videoconferencing
technology put together can form the following type of transportation which
will make many of the things which we take as necessary and irreplaceable
obsolete.
Step one; the Corporation will manufacture Quadopods which
are basically enhanced worsens of what was displayed at the consumer
electronics show in Las Vegas recently. (Add date and link)
a large number of these are produced when they are parked at
neighborhood Quadopod ports which are basically parking lots at the local malls
and shopping complexes which are modified into docking platforms for the basic
Quadopod.
Consumers will buy special attachment hooks which are fitted
over their existing compact cars.
They will also be sold Quadopod transport carpets/cabins
which are basically designed like a compact car without the engine transmission
and wheels. One can have infinite varieties these cabins based on various
designs from various vendors.
Whenever somebody wants to travel they simply look up for an
available Quadopod using an application just like how we are using Uber to call
for a ride.
This will be transmitted to the nearest available free/fully
charged/charged and enough for the designated destination Quadopod, which using
the GPS/cell phone signal and coordinates comes and lands on the car/cabinet
and join the attachment who can once this mating occurs, though Quadopod will
take off and transport the car/cabinet to destination which is designated by
the rider.
After dropping off the rider at his or her destination the
Quadopod will autonomously fly down to the nearest Quadopod port and dock
itself and starts charging itself.
Based on the requirements please Quadopods can be consumer,
commercial, military varieties with various differing power and capabilities.
The technology for creating this network is available and
commercially feasible provided the above said corporations dropped their competition
and came together to cooperate.
The whole power grid for charging the Quadopod fleet will be
provided by clean nuclear energy or solar energy.
This will completely eliminate fossil fuel which will reduce/
greenhouse gas emissions altogether.
This will ultimately eliminate roadways and railways. We may
still have airlines and airports for a short period of time before somebody
comes up with an electric/fusion power/solar powered intercontinental transport
ships.
